Meet The Rovers

At CityRover, we don’t have a large Rolodex of tour guides, nor do we have reserves or backups to call up if we have more requests than we can handle. And that’s intentional. The 4 CityRovers below (and you are likely to meet all of us if you decide to book multiple tours) is our entire “roster” and we like it that way. When you book with us, you can rest assured that we truly love New York, are perpetual students of its history and development (not to mention licensed tour guides), and really enjoy the interaction with our customers from around the world. We are local, licensed, energetic, friendly, and love being tour guides.

Hi, I’m Max, the founder of CityRover and lover of all things New York — coffee, bagels, pizza, subways, street musicians, the hustle and bustle, old bars, amazing restaurants on little side streets, Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, the High Line, riding the Cyclone, arguing with opinionated locals, and living in a city full of possibilities and chance encounters, replete with so many odd-balls that everyone can feel like they belong.

Danielle is a native New Yorker and “Jill-of-all-trades.”  She is an artist, traveler, fact-sponge, and licensed NYC Tour Guide.  Born in Brooklyn, Danielle comes from a quintessential NYC melting pot family. A “first and a half” generation New Yorker, her mother’s family immigrated to the tenements of the Lower East Side from post-war Eastern Europe, landing on East 9th street.  Her father’s family is Italian American, originating from Naples and putting down roots in South Brooklyn.

Rodney has been a New Yorker his whole life (at heart), but has actually lived here for only a decade. When people ask him, “Why did you move to New York?”, he responds by citing E.B. White’s Here is New York. White says that there are three New Yorks: the first is the New York of the native, the second is of the commuter, and the third is of the person born somewhere else, but who came to New York in search of something.

Ryan is an NYC Sightseeing Guide with a genuine passion for storytelling, whose robust sense of humor is only matched by his deep and abiding respect for the great women and men who shaped this city. Initially moving here in 1996 to attend acting school at New York University and currently studying history at Hunter College, the city has seen Ryan serve thousands of meals, attend hundreds of auditions, rent dozens of apartments, and create countless memorable experiences for its visitors.
