Brooklyn Bridge Tower up close

Brooklyn is NY’s largest borough, with over 2.6 million residents.  And all 3 Rovers – Max, Danielle, and Ryan – live in Brooklyn and love to show it off to visitors.

Brooklyn is rich in history, culture, and diversity.  It also has a great food scene, with terrific bars, restaurants and cafes, including many family-run neighborhood spots — if you know where to go.

So whether you’re visiting New York City for the first time or coming back as a seasoned tourist, Brooklyn offers a tremendous variety of things to do, see, and eat.

There are classic Brooklyn pizza and great bagels to taste, as well as delicious cheese cake, ice cream, coffee, chocolate, beer, and everything else that’s worth eating and drinking.

There are historic 19th century neighborhoods to explore, including Brooklyn Heights, Fort Greene, and Park Slope, as well as waterfront “industrial-turned-luxury” areas such as Dumbo and parts of Williamsburg.  And these popular neighborhoods are near some of Brooklyn’s most beautiful and famous parks, including Brooklyn Bridge Park, Fort Greene Park, and Prospect Park.

Touring Coney Island and Brighton Beach

We can customize a private tour of Brooklyn for history buffs, foodies, beer lovers, families, or travelers who enjoy getting off the beaten path and exploring interesting neighborhoods and beautiful parks.

Traveling with kids in the warmer months?

How about a trip to Brooklyn’s famous Coney Island for a day of fun in the sun in the “People’s Playground”?  Get a Nathan’s hotdog from the original location circa 1916, or visit one of NY’s oldest family-run pizzerias, Totonno’s (circa 1924).  Maybe take a ride on one of the most famous roller coasters in the world – the Cyclone – the wooden classic circa 1927, or on one of the oldest Ferris Wheels – the Wonder Wheel – circa 1920.

If you like the idea of visiting Coney Island by the beach and learning about its rich history, we can then take you into neighboring Brighton Beach, also known as “Little Russia by the Sea”.  This will transport you to a different world without leaving New York City.  Sample some meat dumplings, potato knishes, and other Russian treats, and explore an authentic immigrant enclave near the Ocean and far from Manhattan skyscrapers.

We can design a great Brooklyn tour to suit your tastes and preferences.

Tour duration can be anywhere from 3 hours to all day.  We can travel by foot and subway (subway cost not included).  Specific food stops can be included upon request (or suggested by us), or we can provide a luxury vehicle and driver to take us from one area of interest to another (additional fees apply).

Neighborhoods and parks we can explore on a private Brooklyn sightseeing tour include but are not limited to:

  • Brooklyn Heights, including the Brooklyn Heights Promenade with spectacular elevated views of NY’s Harbor and the Downtown Manhattan Skyline
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park on the waterfront overlooking Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty
  • Dumbo (“Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”)
  • Williamsburg, including visits to artisan shops for ice cream and chocolate (and optional bar stops)
  • Fort Greene and Fort Greene Park (Brooklyn’s first public park)
  • Clinton Hill, which was once home to Brooklyn’s “Gold Coast”
  • The beautiful campus and sculpture garden of Pratt Institute
  • Park Slope (NY’s largest historic district)
  • Prospect Park (Brooklyn’s answer to Central Park)
  • Windsor Terrace

What customers are saying:

We have taken many tours with CityRover, some more than once, and all have been fabulous. So, when we decided to visit NYC again, it was a no brainer to take another tour with Max and CityRovers. We decided on this visit that we would like to explore outside of Manhattan. We chose a private tour of Brooklyn and it was another awesome experience. Max is the best tour guide in NYC. He makes you feel as if you are with a friend who is just showing you around, not just another tourist. We learned a lot of information about the area and visited some of the local businesses. We were treated to some delicious bagels and cream cheese, pizza, chocolate, ice cream, and cheese cake and coffee. He was very accommodated to our needs, making sure that we were going at an appropriate pace, allowing for rest breaks and bathroom breaks as needed. Max is very knowledgeable about the area, both past and present, and he is passionate about sharing his knowledge with you. He loves what he does and it shows! If you are looking for a tour while in New York, you absolutely can't go wrong with any tour offered by Max and CityRovers. I look forward to our next opportunity to visit and tour with CityRover!
All New Yorkers, 7 good friends decided we wanted to learn more about our city and have a fun StayCation on Labor Day. We hired Max of CityRover Walks NY to take us into Brooklyn, a part of New York none of us was acquainted with. What an excellent decision to go with CityRover Walks! Max was completely charming, easy-going, friendly and extraordinarily knowledgable. And here's the thing that makes him a stand-out in a long list of other possible tour guides: he ``read`` our group dynamic immediately and pointed out and discussed things he sensed (correctly) we would be interested in ourselves. We never were treated as just another group of tourists; every moment we were well aware that Max was totally concerned with our level of interest and enjoyment of our experience. The tour was thus personalized even farther which made it that much more satisfying and fascinating. As a professional Tour Guide myself, I was so impressed with Max in absolutely every way. Highly recommend CityRover Walks NY to anyone (no matter where you are from!) who wants a truly special way to experience this incredible city.
Group of 7 women ages 13-55. LOVED our tour of Brooklyn with Max. So passionate about his surroundings and obviously loves what he does. He shared so much about the city we would never have known without his knowledge and experience. Pace was great - guided us around on foot and via subway. Casual and very likable. Very willing to flex the tour to meet our needs. Gave me a whole new appreciation of Brooklyn. Would recommend 100%.
