What customers are saying:

★★★★★ “Great afternoon walk”

Max met us at the appointed time with a box of Plaza Bakery cookies (the famous black and whites) and it was just the sweet boost we needed for our 3.5 hour walk through the southern half of the Park. History, castles, promenades, Black angels, Strawberry Fields. It was a WONDERFUL experience and we will use Max every time we come to NYC. Thanks.

★★★★★ “Top tours”

We went on two tours (Landmark Explorer and Central Park) on the one day. We could not have been happier with tour leader Max. His tours are relaxed, friendly and informative. We agree with the other reviewers who have complimented City Rover Walks. At three hours, each tour strides along through the streets, via the landmarks and into the history of various aspects of New York's colourful story. If you are not familiar with NYC taking one on Max's tours is the way to go!

★★★★★ “NY trip”

Central Park tour - Excellent! Max was knowledgable, small group as promised - loved the tour, went back and enjoyed more visits to the park after the tour - 2nd tour with Max and CityRover - have already recommended to others and look forward to next trip and tour with CityRover.

Tour FAQs:

How strenuous is this walk? This walk covers about 3 miles on foot in a little over 3 hours.  The terrain is mostly flat, but there are a couple of small hills, as well as a couple of staircases to climb and descend.  You’ll be on your feet most of the time, though if the park benches are dry, you will have a couple of opportunities to sit down.  We try to maintain a steady walking pace to cover all the areas of interest.  So if you think you might find it difficult to keep up at a moderate walking speed with the rest of the group, or if stairs and small hills pose a challenge, please consider a private tour with us, which can be tailored to suit your pace and fitness level.

What About Kids? Our public tours are not ideal for young children, as they involve a lot of walking and cover topics geared to adults.  If you would like to tour with us and have children ages 10 and younger, please contact us about a private tour.   That said, there are 2 “child” tickets ($25 each) available for each public tour for children ages 12 and under.

Meeting Point: Detailed meeting point instructions will be emailed to you once your reservation has been processed.   The tour starts near 5th Avenue and Central Park South and ends near the Natural History Museum.

Stops: There will be at least 1 restroom break during our walk.  Each participant will also be offered a complimentary bottle of water and a small snack on the walk.  A meal prior to the tour is recommended.

Weather: Our public tours take place rain or shine, barring a severe storm in the forecast, in which case we would email or call you and offer options to switch to another tour or reschedule.  If severe weather prevents us from leading this tour and you are unable to switch or reschedule to another, then we would issue you a refund for the tour in question.

Are gratuities included? Guide gratuities are not included in the tour price, so if you enjoy your tour, tips are very much appreciated.
